Tag : The TBR Tag

Hello People !!

Before I get to the tag, please do check my Q&A announcement post and leave a question in its comments if interested.

I was tagged by the awesome Dawlyn and Krista from Little Blind Book Finds to do the TBR tag. Thank you for the tag girls !

How do you keep track of your TBR Pile ?

Okay, so my actual TBR pile is never huge. However, I do have a TBR list in which I add any book I’d like to buy and(or) read in future and that’s a never-ending list. So I never try keeping track of it. Once I buy/read a book, I tick it off the list (I read almost every book I buy. I repeat, ALMOST).

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook ?

My TBR is entirely print. Even if I do read the e-book or listen to the audio book, I make sure I get the physical copy later (unless it was that bad). This is not because of any bias against e-books, but because I genuinely can’t keep my attention on an e-book. I get easily distracted when reading from a screen. It takes me ages to finish reading an e-book. By the time I reach the end, I don’t even remember what I read !!

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next ?

Okay, so I buy a number of books each month and which books from the TBR list goes into the cart depends on my budget. My monthly book-haul IS my current TBR and I don’t buy more books until I finish reading the ones I just bought (unless I temporarily DNF one of them). From my TBR pile, I read the one I’m least interested in first (because that needs to get out of the way) and the most interesting comes last !!

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest ?

I honestly don’t even know anymore !! That list is too long. But I think it’s Fahrenheit 451.

A book that you recently added to your TBR ?

  1. Born A Crime : stories from a South African childhood by Trevor Noah
  2. How to stop time by Matt Haig

A book on your TBR strictly because it has a beautiful cover

I do love pretty covers,  but I don’t ever buy a book just for its cover. If the story doesn’t intrigue me, I won’t buy it.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading.

Vernon Little God by DBC Pierre (I don’t remember what this book’s about)

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for.

If you’ve read my Review (previous post), you’d know this.

Lethal White by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you.

Almost every book on my TBR fits this description. So, Charlotte’s web ! Since it’s a children’s book, probably even people who aren’t avid readers must’ve read it.

A book on your TBR everyone recommends to you.

Wuthering Heights ! Yes I know it’s good. I’ll get to it some day.

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read.

1. How to stop time by Matt Haig

2. Lethal White by Robert Galbraith(JK Rowling).

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR.

I don’t use Goodreads much, so only 44 !!

TAG, you’re it !! :

Aritri from The Liquid Sunset

Dhruv from The Perks of being Dhruv

Rimpy from Rimpysreads

Aris from Awkward Aris

Danielle from The Introverted Book Nerd

Vijayalakshmi from The Reading Desk

and anyone else who wants to do this tag !! Please pingback to this post so I can read all your answers.

  1. I can’t believe you actually read the one you’re least interested in first! That is amazing self-control and planning. I’m truly impressed πŸ™‚ also! I wouldn’t recommend Withering Heights (I know I’m weird:D)… I just didn’t understand what the whole drama was about in that book. To me, the characters just acted like spoiled children and what they did made no sense. Happens, I guess πŸ˜€

    1. Well I have heard different things from different people about Wuthering Heights. So I thought I’ll find out for myself. My self control isn’t very amazing, the amount of books I buy each month is far more than what I can actually read. Also, It’s not something I planned really, that’s just how I end up reading, least interesting first because I always save the best for the end. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

  2. I think if we bookworms had to put all out TBR;s together, they would be the size of this universe. Just a theory.
My TBR is MASSIVE on Goodreads (why don’t you use it more) I think e-books are great though I see the downsides to them! I haven’t Charlottes Web yet either and everyone has? This is unfair XD

    1. I have no clue why I don’t use goodreads that often. I atleast use it now to keep tracks of books I’ve read but I still don’t add book to the tbr on goodreads, maybe the physical one works better for me !
      I just assumed everyone must’ve read Charlotte’s web because it’s a children’s book ! There are 5 year olds out there who’ve read it and I haven’t.
