Tag : Hogwarts Tag

Hello everyone !!!

It’s time for another tag !! I have other tags and awards to post but this tag is the most interesting of all the ones I’ve yet to do. So, I decided to get to the others in the upcoming weeks.

I was tagged by Katie @ Never Not Reading to do the Hogwarts Tag. Thanks Katie !! If you haven’t checked out her blog, you really should. She’s amazing !

Onto the tag then …

Am I a pureblood, half-blood, or muggle born?

Well… my dad passed away when I was 10 and had never even seen the book (despite it already being published), let alone read it. My mom hadn’t read them either, but recently, I read the first 3 books to her (because I really wanted her to read it and she said she was too busy to read it, so I read it to her. YES, I am very stubborn sometimes) and she loved them. She’s now reading the 4th book. So, I suppose I’m a half-blood !!

Which wand chose me?

wand

Wood : Pear wood

This golden-toned wood produces wands of splendid magical powers, which give of their best in the hands of the warm-hearted, the generous and the wise. Possessors of pear wands are, in my experience, usually popular and well-respected. I do not know of a single instance where a pear wand has been discovered in the possession of a Dark witch or wizard.

Core: Dragon Heartstring

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

Length: 13″ (probably because I’m tall)

Flexibility: Lightly yielding (indicative of how stubborn I am.)

Did I take an owl, cat, rat, or toad with me?

I still don’t understand this partiality to certain animals. Anyway, from these options, I’d probably take an owl, because I LOVE Hedwig and owls are useful. Also, I don’t like any of the other three.

Where did  the sorting hat put me?

gryff

Well, years back (when pottermore came into existence), I was sorted into Gryffindor and that seemed right back then. But like everyone else, I’ve changed over the years and now, at heart, I’m a Hufflepuff.

So though I’m a Gryffinpuff, if I had to say a house, I’d say Gryffindor (Because, house loyalty).

What house did I want to be in?

I never WANTED to be in any house. I let the quiz decide. I’m a potterhead in the sense that I love the books but I’m not obsessed about it like most other potterheads I’ve seen.

What lessons are my favorite and least favorite?

Favourites :

Charms : who doesn’t want to learn charms ?

Potions : Loved my chemistry practicals (though not the theory)

Transfiguration : Because it’s the COOLEST and the MOST INTERESTING subject in the books.

Care of Magical Creatures : Those magical beasts are so lovely !!

Least Favourites :

Divination : I don’t care what terrible things (or good things) happen to me. I’ll burn my bridges when I reach them.

Ancient Runes : I have enough of languages to learn in the muggle world itself. Maybe I’d like a break from them in the wizarding world.

The form my patronus takes ?

My Patronus according to pottermore is Tortoiseshell Cat. I have no clue how, I’m not particularly fond of cats (I like them as long as they don’t come near me).

What does a boggart look like to me?

My biggest fear is losing my loved ones. So however the boggart interprets that.

Do I partake in any magical hobbies or school sports?

Is being a quidditch commentator considered a hobby ? If yes, then that’s what I’d be !

Where would I find myself hanging in my free time?

Probably near Hagrid’s hut or if I can manage to sneak into the forbidden forest, you’d find me there.

What would I most likely get detention for ?

Ooooh !! This would be quite a long list. But most possibly, sneaking into the forbidden forest or being out in the corridors at night or causing a ruckus in class or not submitting assignments. I don’t know, just about anything !! I’ve got into enough troubles in school too except from the few teachers who knew I enjoyed most of the punishments and that the only way to make me suffer was to let me attend classes.

What career do I want after leaving Hogwarts ?

Maybe I’d be trying to invent a way to make muggle technology work in the wizarding world. I mean seriously ! it’s not fair to those wizards. Sure they have magic but a little technology won’t do much harm.

  3. Oooh, the first question is so interesting if you base it on whether or not your parents have read the books! I suppose I’m muggle-born then, because neither of my parents have read the books (although my mom has seen a few of the movies). Awesome tag! 🙂

  4. Now this is an awesome tag!

Why does everyone mention Ancient Runes as their least favorite though.. I used to be a teacher on a RPG-site – created lessons for both Potions and Ancient Runes. So I’m taking it personally. Phuh. [Just kidding, haha.]

Though I’ve been in a kind of fight with Pottermore whenever I do that test. I’ve always been a Gryffindor, but lately all tests I did say I’m supposed to be in Ravenclaw. Like, no?! I can’t handle that! Gryffindor is my identity. Don’t take that from me?!
[And imagine having to replace all your house-merch.. No can do!]

      1. I have.. two wands and my boyfriend has a wand as well, haha. [Okay, my two wands are exactly the same but I got one as a gift from someone who didn’t know – doesn’t know still – that I already had one and I’d feel guilty getting rid off one of them.. >
